Terms of Service

Last updated 3 October 2026.

These terms cover the Armstrong website (joinarmstrong.com), the Armstrong organiser console, and the Armstrong mobile app (together, "Armstrong"). By creating an account, publishing an event, or entering a tournament through Armstrong, you agree to these terms.

What Armstrong is

Armstrong is a platform for arm wrestling: finding clubs and events, running tournaments (building brackets, taking entries, publishing results and a livestream scoreboard), and tracking rankings. Armstrong itself does not run tournaments. Each event is created and run by its organiser, who is responsible for the event itself: the venue, the officiating, the safety of everyone at the table, and following any local law that applies to running a sporting event.

Accounts

You need an account to organise or enter an event, join a club or build a profile. You can look around, and follow an event or a puller for alerts, without one. Keep your login details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has access to your account. You must be old enough, under the law where you live, to agree to these terms yourself, or have a parent or guardian do it for you.

One account per person, in your own real name. Your profile details should be true: the brackets and rankings depend on them. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page.

You choose how you appear: open, name only, or anonymous on club rosters and rankings, and whether other people can follow you. Anonymous hides your name and photo from other people's view of rosters and rankings; your club's captains and an event's organiser still see who you are, because they need to run the club and the draw.

Clubs

Anyone can start a page for a club they belong to. Some clubs were listed by Armstrong from public directories before anyone ran their page; the person who actually runs the club can claim it, and Armstrong checks every claim before making someone captain. Only claim a club you really run. A club's captain and co-captains are responsible for what they put on its page and for who they accept. Armstrong can hide a club, change who runs it, or remove members to deal with false claims, impersonation or abuse.

Rankings

Ratings come only from pulled matches at rated events Armstrong approves for the rankings, under the fair-play rules on the rankings page. Armstrong can void a match, leave an event unrated, or take someone off the rankings when results look wrong or manipulated. Ratings are for fun and bragging rights; they are not an official federation ranking. An event is only shown as sanctioned when the federation concerned has told Armstrong so; Run on Armstrong means the event uses Armstrong software, not that any federation has approved it.

What you post

You keep ownership of photos, posters and text you add, and you let Armstrong show them on the site for as long as they're up. Only post what you have the right to share, and nothing offensive, misleading or someone else's private details.

Entering a minor

If you enter someone under 18 into a tournament, you are confirming that you are their parent or legal guardian, or have their guardian's permission, and that you are entering their details (weight, age, gender) on their behalf so the event can place them safely. Armstrong's bracket engine is built to never place a competitor under 18 into a bracket with adults, but the organiser and the competitor's guardian are responsible for the accuracy of the age and weight given at entry.

Entry fees and payouts

Armstrong is free during Beta and takes no payment from organisers or entrants. Some events charge an entry fee; that is paid to the organiser directly and Armstrong does not handle it. Refunds, if any, are the organiser's decision and are between the organiser and the entrant; Armstrong is not a party to that refund. If Armstrong adds paid features later, such as a fee for running an event, it will tell organisers clearly before anything is charged, and payments will be processed by a third party payment processor.

Publishing an event

Organiser access is approved by Armstrong, which may ask about your club or events first and can withdraw it. If you organise an event, you are responsible for the accuracy of what you publish: the venue, the date, the format, the fee, and any rules specific to your event. Armstrong can remove an event or a listing that is fraudulent, unsafe, or breaks these terms, without needing to give advance notice.

Livestreaming

If you connect a livestream platform (for example YouTube, Facebook or TikTok) to an event, you are agreeing to that platform's own terms as well as Armstrong's. Armstrong is not responsible for how a connected platform handles your stream, your account, or your audience once the stream leaves Armstrong's overlay and camera tools.

If your event's broadcast is public, meaning anyone can find and watch it without an invite or a password, Armstrong may use footage from it, including short clips or the full recording, to promote Armstrong: on the website, on Armstrong's own social accounts, or in ads. Armstrong will never claim your event as its own or hide who organised it. If you would rather Armstrong not use footage from your event this way, tell us through the request form on the privacy page and we will leave it out.

Alerts

Alerts are optional. Armstrong sends only the messages you asked for, and every email has a link to stop. Alerts depend on your device, your browser and your connection, so a message can arrive late or not at all; do not rely on an alert for anything where timing matters.

Acceptable use

Do not use Armstrong to publish false results, misrepresent an event, harass another user, or try to break into Armstrong's systems or another organiser's event. We can suspend or close an account that does this.

No warranty

Armstrong is in Beta and provided as it is. We work to keep brackets, results, and payouts accurate, but we do not guarantee the platform will be free of bugs or always available, and we are not responsible for a match, a bracket, or an event going wrong for reasons outside Armstrong's own systems (a venue issue, a scale, an officiating call, a competitor's own conduct).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Armstrong grows. If a change is significant, we will show a notice in the app or on the site. Continuing to use Armstrong after a change means you accept the update.
