What is a super match?

A super match is a single challenge between two named arm wrestlers, rather than a bracket of many. It is usually the headline bout, a grudge match or a title challenge, run over several legs so that one lucky pull does not decide it. The winner is the first puller to win a majority of the legs.

Best of 3, 5 or 7

Best of 3 needs two leg wins, best of 5 needs three, and best of 7 needs four. The match stops as soon as someone gets there, so a best of 5 that goes 3 to 0 is over after three legs and the last two are never pulled. This scorer marks those legs as not needed.

Using the scorer

Put the two pullers first in the list and choose Super match. The next leg glows red with an "Up next" tag. Click the winner of the leg and the score updates and the glow moves on. If you click the wrong name, press Undo, or click the leg again. Correcting an earlier leg keeps the later ones when they still make sense.

Arm wrestling is pulled with each hand, so you can score the right hand, the left hand, or both, each with its own result. Everything is saved in the link, so you can send it to a referee or reopen it later.

Rest between legs

Pullers need a rest between legs, and a super match is usually watched, so most organisers give a short break after every leg. Agree the length before the match starts, announce it, and keep it the same for both pullers.

More than two pullers?

For a field of pullers, use the arm wrestling bracket generator, which builds a seeded double or single elimination bracket. Many events run the bracket during the day and close with a super match.

Questions

Is the super match scorer free?

Yes. It is free, needs no account, and nothing you type is sent to a server. The match is saved in the link, so copying the address saves it.

What is a super match in arm wrestling?

A single challenge between two named pullers, scored over several legs. The first to win a majority of the legs wins the super match.

How many legs can a super match have?

This scorer offers best of 3, 5 or 7. Best of 5 is the usual choice for a headline bout.

When does a super match end?

As soon as one puller has won a majority of the legs: two in a best of 3, three in a best of 5, four in a best of 7. The remaining legs are not pulled.

Can I score left hand and right hand?

Yes. Choose Right, Left or Both under Hands. Each hand has its own score and result.

Can I fix a wrong click?

Yes. Press Undo or click the same winner again to clear the leg. Correcting an earlier leg keeps the later ones when they still hold.
